I'm on Extreme-I for cable and we got a bump to 10/1 today for free. Hurray!
I think the standard users get 7/1 (former Extreme-I speeds) too, but I'm not sure.

It's cable, not DSL, right? Is it available in all Ontario (London)?

Pull the power cord on your cable modem and then plug it back in. Then go to speakeasy.net and do one of their speed tests. 7/1 refers to the download/upload speed in megabits per second (Mbit/s or Mbps). Speakeasy will give it to you in kbits so you should be 7000/1000 (more realisitically around 6900/950 or so).

Apparently it is. And yeah the site hasn't been updated, but do a test after rebooting your modem and see.

They're not hard caps. They're 'guidelines' for appropriate use... and for some reason it doesn't count newsgroup downloads![]()

They count, I've been caught for excessive bandwidth mainly from using Shaw's own news servers.
