Shaw extra IP fee + Sharing an internet connection

Hi, I have a few questions regarding the title.

I use shaw, and they charge $10/month for an extra IP address. Will switching a modem between two computers (physically disconnecting and reconnecting the network cable) make me pay this? Is it legal for me to get a router to split my internet connection and not pay the $10 a month?

My computers will be quite far away from each other. Will having a long line running to the other computer slow the connection down? Will it limit the bandwidth?

Legal or not depends on Shaw, their Web site probably will have a statement about this issue in the Policy section.

Most ISP will not support the use of Routers, but will not consider it Illegal.

Switching to other computer probably will not work if Mac is used for authentication.
