shaving accident: how to stop bleeding

my bf just cut his upper lip while shaving. how does he get it to stop bleeding? he tried to just hold it with pressure for at least 20 minutes already and it hasnt stopped bleeding

lol that sucks. Sounds like a deep cut. Might need a stitch or something to hold it together.

Things learned the first day in medic school:

All bleeding stops...eventually.
Blue is bad.
Newborns are very slippery.
If there is a news crew around and you aren't doing anything pick up a sheet and run around.

pretend it's not a "shaving cut" and do what you would normally do for a bleeding gash...

We don't have neosporin around, but as a last resort we tried aloe vera. I didn't think it would help, but we had that cactus plant around and used some of it. The profuse bleeding has stopped.
