Through TODAY only.

Click through $15 off $50 through 12/31/03.

If you buy both items to get over $50, the $15 savings if greater than shipping costs saving through the other URL.

It also has a small savings in tax if Sharper Image is in your state and sales tax is charged. You save the tax on $15 which for me is $1.24.

So for me with 8.25% tax:
$39.95 + $19.95 - $15.00 = $44.90
+ Tax of $3.70 = $48.60
+ shipping of $7.95 (anywhere in US)

TOTAL = $56.55

Click Outlet Store across the top. The stereo and the speaker will both be obvious to you.

I had a $25 Sharper Image gift certificate lying around that had to be used by today. So, I ordered the bookshelf system + subwoofer for a grand total of $29.81. Certainly seems worth it, but we'll have to wait and see what it is like when it gets here.

I set mine up this weekend. Without the subwoofer, the sound is a little on the tin side. I would probably give it a 4.5 on a scale of 1 to 10. The speakers don't like real high volume. The treble is too high pitch, and the bass is muffled. It does have a built in equalizer that gives you 3 presets. Putting it on the 'guitar' mode made it sound a lot better. Moving the scale up to a 6. But I'm keeping in mind that there is a breakin period for the speakers. So it may even get better. For the $40 I paid, it can't be beat. It played my CD-Rs with no problem. But it is definately not worth $200. It does look very cool though.

I also got the sub for $20. What a difference! It takes if from a 6 to a 7.5. If you get the stereo, I would definately add a sub to it. Even a cheap one would improve the system tremendously.

From a comparable cost perspective, For $60 (system and sub) there is nothing out there that can touch it. In that regard, it's a 10.
