Egghead.com has them new for $379.

Oh yeah, I just wanted to say that these are fairly slow machines. The Mobilon PCV5000 is the faster unit.

People have been telling me the discontinued IBM Workpad z50 is a much better deal. It has an equivalent big screen and add-ons, and comes in at the same price range as the 6000. The only thing is they're pretty much impossible to find at the $300 price IBM sold them at a few months ago when they were clearing out their inventory.

Thanks for the posting bigbigsavings...

You've posted a ton of great stuff that I've had the good fortune of taking advantage of...

It's true that some places may have it cheaper, but if you take into account the free shipping and no tax from Overstock, then it's comparable. If you are eligible for a new customer coupon, you can knock another $20 off that price so you get the unit for $379 shipped to your door.

I've looked at this unit from other vendors and they start at $379, but then tax or shipping, or both would bump the price up to over $400 shipped to your door.

Egghead would charge tax and shipping, and I personally don't feel comfortable buying from egay...

I've been looking at this unit for a while, and I'm still debating if I should get it or not..
