Sharkoon Heatsink* Red Shock

IIRC, Sharkoon is a company based in Germany. There products have not penitrated the US market yet. The first time i saw thier name it was about the noiseless no-flow 80mm white golfball dimpeled fan.
I Googled for reviews and found none. Frosty Tech does have a news release about this HS that's two weeks old but no testing.
Looks like competition for the XP-90C that i have but it comes in at 820g w/o fan, 100g more than the XP-90C. Weight worries me a bit, so on my install the 92x38 fan will be suspended just off the HS by <1mm.

When you find a review, link it.

Need to try and get more info on this product..

a 120mm Panafo on this might be interesting.

I think this is a new product so rhere are no reviews around.

The weight may be the isssue..

This heatsink measures 91 x 50 x 95 mm (w x h x d) and weighs 820 g.

That's about the same size as XP60c and 20 grams heavier!

Is that too heavy..can a m/b hanle that kina weight?

We are talking about a XP-90 not a XP-60(?)
The Red Shock lists at 820g w/o fan.
The XP-90 lists at 690g w/o fan. That makes the Sharkoon 140g heavyer!
140g is more than a 92x38 fan!

We all take chances. Go for it if you wish. There is a reccomended maximum weight for HSF at your mobo's web page. Last i looked most limit the board to 500g but that's why most aftermarket HSFs come with a sturdy backing plate.

Given its size, and this interesting quote from the webpage:

"...mounting frame for 80 mm, 92 mm and 120 mm fans, mounting angle for 120 mm fans,..."

it looks like a 120mm fan fits only at an angle.
