First they started with the subliminal messages to say crap like "Oh hey lets utilize our T-mobile phones to bluetooth transfer the quarterly results" in their show...

This week we have a guy come in to sell his fly trap and because he knows seth mc-farlane, seth comes out and starts to push the product....

Don't get me wrong I like Family guy and Seth is funny but to utilize him for something that is not even relevant is just stupid. This show is starting to lose its luster..

I still love this show but.

THIS T-MOBILE SH*T MUST STOP.

It is so forced and pathetic, I absolutely will stop if they keep this kind of sh*t up, it totally breaks the rhythm and really just is embarrassing for them. Watching Kevin send results with it it was just retarded, like a guy in a movie stopping mid-action scene to say "Drink Gatorade!".

No Fly Cone. Forward video to 14:59 to see it
THE PITCH Bruce Gaither offers a fifteen percent stake in No Fly Cone in return for $25,000. The professional horse trainer has designed an inverted fly trap which collects insects inside a funnel-shaped device, sparing the unappealing sight of normal flypaper strips. The catch is, to attract the flies into the cone you have to place it over your dog's droppings.

SALE OR FAIL? Fail. Amazingly, none of the Sharks were terribly enchanted by a product that requires a steady supply of doggie doo-doo.

THE BREAKDOWN The No Fly Cone is an ingenious tool if you happen to 1) own a dog and 2) work in a barn where flies swarm by the dozens. Outside of that it's completely unmarketable. The only reason this guy was even on the show is that one of his horseback-riding pupils is Seth MacFarlane, who happens to be hosting a little soiree on ABC in February.

Shark Tank has trotted out celebrity guests before, like NFL running back Brandon Jacobs earlier this year and Vincent "Big Pussy" Pastore back in Season 2. But unlike them, MacFarlane has no connection to this business whatsoever. He's not an endorser, an investor, or even a customer. He was, by his own admission, no help whatsoever in the Tank. He was just there to do funny voices and remind everyone that he has like 45 shows on another network. Both he and Gaither milled about uncomfortably as the Sharks shrugged at the product and needled MacFarlane, but there was almost no discussion of No Fly Cone's business fundamentals—the whole segment was pure novelty.

OMG watching it on Hulu now, this SF dude (mike, with the plate food storage idea) they just did the whole T-mobile promotion again when he stepped out to make a phone call SOOO HORRIBLE!!!

now hes wrestling back and forth this guy needs to step off his pedestal, mr oh I have a PhD and am a doctor on paper, they should of thrown him out and said get lost. He couldn't even properly evaluate, hope he makes something of himself because I would hate to have him as my physician. The guy projects the stereotypical rich snob mentality one would expect from a LA/SF Princeton graduate.

I watch the show just to see the facial expressions Mark Cuban makes when he gets agitated.

That woman on Fridays episode at the end had quite the meltdown after all the sharks declined to back in. After her meltdown, Lori Greiner decides to come back in out of obvious pity for the woman.

Yea, i saw that... Lori even started to say "oh well I didn't come back in because she cried" total B.S. that is the ONLY reason she came back in.

He seemed to think he was going to outsmart them all. Apparently not realizing they didn't have to tolerate his bs.

Yep, I had wished that they would of just said GTFO and not have had it last even half as long as it did. Could of fit another product into the show very easily...

Similar to what Damon did as soon as the guy started to flounder he just said forget it and stuck to his guns without giving the guy a second chance.

That was the best part.

A million dollars for 30%

Well, you know, I'd really like more, and maybe less equity, because my evaluation and orders and ...

I'm out. :)

If I ever got into the position with a great idea and required some funding I think I would most rather team up to work with Damon or Robert, maybe Mr Wonderful if it was some sort of licensing deal where I just wanted to lend out the idea to other manufactures and reap the benefits.

I think lori is to snooty and shady with that smile she presents and how shes always trying to say she does everything well, sort of like the whole idea of QVC just looking to swindle you into spending your money for some crap product you don't really need. Cuban I guess I could be undecided about but at first glance he sort of just doesn't seem like the kind of guy I would wish to do business with because he acts super 'better than thou'

Product placement in TV shows and movies is pretty out of hand but it helps them to rake in more money so there's no reason for them to stop.

If enough people stop watching their shows because of it they will.

It will probably continue to get a LOT worse since the advent of the tivo/DVR that almost everyone uses now. I really never watch a show without it being taped so I can FF through the commercial, even football games I start late so I can FF. If the advertisements are in the programming you have to view it a little at least.

Since his facial expression didn't change much I couldn't really tell how flustered he was... But he ended up taking $90k for 8%??? You turn down $1mil for 25% but take $90k for 8%? Since the guy does bait-n-switch on the fly I suspect Lori Greiner may not be able to pin him down into signing an actual contract. I just can't see a guy who won't take $1mil for 25% or $900k for 30% actually agreeing to $90k for 8% when the dust settles.

The guy did the right thing taking the 90k for 8%. He asked for the same amount but offered 5%. No reason for him to give up more equity since Lori already said there would be more money when needed.

whats funny is if more of these people were actual businessmen they wouldnt need to fork over 30% of their profits forever just to get a head start.

Was watching a rerun tonight and Barbara takes a picture Kevin and then brags about t monile's super fast network. This used to be one of my favorite shows. I stopped watching right there. Will never return now, I will not tolerate advertising slipped falsely into any show's dialogue like this.

It's pretty damn obnoxious. They even hold the phones up to the camera to make sure the logo gets centered.
