sharing printer in windows xp

Hi, I have a small network at home and I am trying to share my printer that is connected to one of the computers via a usb port.

The problem is simple, when I go to the printer properties (start -> printers and faxes, right click the printer, sharing tab) I select 'share this printer'. Then when I click apply I get an error "Printer settings could not be saved. Operation could not be completed".

I'm running windows xp sp2.

Any ideas? Thanks!

I have a laser printer shared by three computers. In order to do that, I installed it on all three computers, then set SHARING. I have an ink jet that is a network printer via WiFi to a router. It is also installed in each computer as a network asset, then SHARING is designated.
