Sharing MFP

I have a Asus WL520-GU that has special software to share all of a USB MFP's functions. What it does is create a virtual USB port on the guest PC and it appears to that PC as if it were connected to the MFP.

However, the stock Asus firmware sucks as it can't grab an IP from my ISP without hard resetting it, so I run DD-WRT on it and added a module to act as a USB print server.

If there is software to replicate the MFP sharing from Asus software either on a DD-WRT compatible router or on a PC acting as a router, I'd like to know what's out there.

What type of printer is it?

Usually you can use the native printer sharing built into Windows without a problem...as long as the PC (i.e. Print Server) hosting the printer is always on.
