Sharing internet through 2 routers

Ok, I can't figure this one out. We've been using a Linksys router with built in firewall for a while and its worked fine. Recently we picked up a Linksys wireless router, which I've been trying to piggyback off of the other one. It worked great right after we did the Linksys setup (and also after I upped it to WPA). However, not too long after, we started to randomly lose internet access. The weird part is that this happens even when I'm running from ethernet straight from the first router. I've tried just about everything I can think of, but it still happens. Any ideas of what is going on? I'm far from an expert when it comes to networking, but it seems like it shouldn't be difficult to do.
