Sharing folders......

I've got my entire CD collection ripped into high bitrate .wma's on an NTFS drive (WinXP Pro). I bought a swanky Ipaq 5455 with built-in wi-fi. Basically, I wanted to share the folder where my music is stored so that while I'm out mowing the lawn I can be listening to my music wirelessly over the lan on my Ipaq.

My music collection is subdivided the following way: D:\Music\Artist\Album

Soooo, I right clicked the Music folder and enabled sharing thinking that all the sub-folders would have sharing enabled. Wrong. Nothing ever is that easy. Well, long story short, I've got over 400 artist folders and a total of 800+ album sub-folders.

Any way that I can share all my music folders quickly, maybe with oh, say, 10 clicks or less, instead of 1200? I don't think my mouse (or my sanity) will survive!

Very odd, since by default all sub-folders are shared.

Do the sub-folders just not show up when you're browsing from the ipaq? The subfolders will NOT be shown with the sharing icon hand when browsing on the XP machine, but they will be visible to others because the parent folder is shared. Even if you check the sharing properties for a subfolder, it won't be listed as being shared because it is inheriting the share from the parent; if you set the subfolder to be shared in its properties, it shows up as a separate shared folder on the network as well as being a subfolder of the parent.

That's what I had thought, and hence the complete and utter disbelief that I would actually have to share each sub-folder. I can see the \artist folders on the network, but not the contents. I can still enable sharing them manually, and then have access, but I have to set their sharing properties individually.

I'm in hell.
