Sharing folders between 3 different OS's?

Hey guys. I have a friend who runs a small business. He has 3 machines.
A vista machine, an xp. and a mac. Will it be possible to set up folders that the
three computers can open and manage documents?
Any help would be appreciated. I have set up shared folders on xp machines before
by placing them on the same Work group and pointing to the folders. Is this possible across these 3 different operating systems?
Thanks

Thanks for the link Lightnin Trip. I was able to make the shared folder on the windows XP machine.
How will I be able to see this folder on the Vista machine?
I was messin with the Vista and could not find out a place to put it onto a workgroup.
My question is: do workgroups matter any more? The tutorial does not mention workgroups at all,
but on the xp machine, it asked me to put in a name for a workgroup.

Thanks.

Open the network Center of Vista (Right Click on the Tray Bar Network Icon).

In the right center click on Customize.

In the customize change the Network name to fit your Network, http://www.ezlan.net/vista/vista-net-name.jpg

Successful Sharing involves some general consideration in Network settings,http://www.ezlan.net/sharing.html

As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what it is allowed to be shared.

WOW! That is a lot of info 🙂 a bit overwhelming, but I think you just saved my ass.
Thanks a bunch, and I will post back here once I've tried this out in the field later this week.

workgroups do not matter and really never have. Using UNC paths is the best way to find resources. \\server\share
