sharing DVD drive on wifi network

I have G type wifi lan & the desktop is installed with DVD writer, I have shared the DVD writer & now I can see it on the Laptop under network & can read the dvd.

I actually want to write DVD backup via nero burning rom from laptop to desktop DVD writer, but nero does not see any drive on the network.

Can this be done or not, is it a problem of Nero or any other reason.

DVD (CDR) can be shared for playback like any other shared device.

The writing has to be done locally. However if you use a remote control program you can copy the files to the Burner computer (the burning program usually need to cache locally) and start the Burning program from remote.

You can use this: Link to: Ultr@VNC - Installation, and Settings
