I have high-speed DSL internet service and recently purchased a Linksys BEFW11S4 4-Port wireless router. I plan on hard-wiring my primary (desktop) computer to the router (via LAN cable). I also have a laptop that I would like to share the high-speed internet with. I DO NOT need any networking to the desktop PC - just want to share the internet. I also purchased a Linksys PC card WPC11 to use in the laptop.

My question is: Should I configure the laptop card as "Infrastructure" or "Ad-Hoc" mode? Remember, I do not need to network with my desktop - just share the internet with the desktop. And are there any special configurations for the router?

Thanks for the help

I know you "DO NOT need" to access the desktop, but is it OK if you do? It's a LAN, so the wireless connection acts as another "cable" to connect everything together.
I have the same exact setup. I just plug in the laptop card & connect, nothing to configure - this choses the default option which is "any available network". Or if you don't have that option (I'm using WinXP), just pick infrastructure.
