Sharing contacts, just an idea

I dont want to spend money on contacts and to get an eye checkup. If you can see through your friend's glasses, then maby you can wear their contacts too? Anyways i know contacts are flexible and your eye curve is different from other people but i wonder, just maby it might work. Anyone tried it with any luck? Does it make your vision worse if you do it? Since they say wearing glasses makes your vision get worse anyways.

I would highly recommend against it. Like Shawn said, infection is always one issue, plus many contacts are custom-fitted on a per-person basis using corneal topography. You could really screw up your vision by wearing someone else's for more than a short period of time. They're cheap enough now online that you should just get a prescription printout from your optometrist and buy them yourself. If you don't have a prescription (they're good for one year), then make an appointment. It's worth a few bucks to save your vision - this coming from someone who wishes someone would have given him this advice a few years ago. 😛

Wow, I thought I was cheap.... lenses at Costco are like $6 a pair lol 😀

Yea even if the "strength" is the same you can seriously injure your eyes by using someone else's lenses. Everyone's eyes are curved differently - contact lenses are prescribed to fit each eye.

i was talking about extras lol, but yall are funny, im what you called cheap..
I can't speak for daily/weekly wearers, but I replace mine every 3 months and don't have any extras since they're so expensive. The only "extras" I have are the ones that I've worn before and are emergency backups.

Your eye doctor should be willing to give you a prescription for contacts with your regular checkup. I only paid for the office visit, the subsequent visits to adjust the contacts were included. I only paid for contacts once he found a pair that was right for me.

I'd go to walmart for eye-care before I used someone else's contacts.

BC and D.
Base Curve and Diameter can vary from eye to eye. My friend wore contacts that had the wrong Base Curve (Because of her eye doctor), and she had problems for some time after that. It evnetually healed fully, but not worth the and pain and problems after.
