Sharing btwn W2k/98

I have a 2K and 98 on a switched local network. The problem is, now they cannot see each other on the network neighborhood, but they could previously when I was using a plain hub instead of a switch. Whats the solution to this problem? I am sure some 2K guru knows 🙂

Thanks,
JJ

have you loaded up all the protocols on both machines, and enable sharing on both? Make sure the workgroup names are the same. I'm able to get my w2k to access my w98, but not vice versa.

Yeah I have them all loaded up, and they worked fine on the hub, but not on the switch. It seems that since they are not aware of the others IP, they cannot connect, whereas on the hub the machines can discover each other since all data is broadcast?

have you tried plugging it in different locations in the switch? I have a linksys and I know that when I use the uplink port, the port next to it doesn't work. Does all the indicator lights go on on your switch?
