Hi, I am newbie with network stuff. I just bought 2 Nic's (Linksys) 10/100. Since I don't have a hub then I use the crossover cable to make this to work. What I want is to share 2 internet connections using a dial up (modem 56k). What I want is my Win 2K to dial to the provider and then once it gets the connection then the Win 98 SE also gets the connection from the Nic. Since I am really newbie with this, I have no clue how to do this. Can someone lead me real detail how to make this to work? Thanks in advance for all the helps.

First of all you need to setup a network between the 2 PC... you have all the equipment you need already, just install 1 NIC in each PC and connect the 2 NICs using the crossover cable...

Follow the instructions on HomePCLAN to configure your network...

After your network is up and running, all you need to do is run some kind of NAT software on your server PC (the one with the modem)... some NAT softwares include Sygate, or Windows ICS (comes with win98SE or newer, so you should have it)...

As for how to configure ICS, you can search the forums here, or even search the windows help files and you should get instructions on how to do it...
