Shared Network Issue

I believe this is the correct place to put this, if not please move this thread to the proper setting, however, as is likely apparent from a cursory check of my IP address, I am sharing a network with another user. Quoting the rules for relevance:
8) Only one account is allowed per person. If you've been given a vacation or a ban, do not create a new account. Instead, please discuss the matter with our moderators via email at moderator@anandtech.com. We have various ways to check if accounts were started by the same person. We will also permaban new accounts based on strong circumstantial evidence or the appearance that they may be secondary accounts.

There was a similar issue addressed back on March 1, 2006; and indeed my PM to the Anandtech Moderator forum account may still be present there should the PMs in that account go back that far. If not, and a copy would be beneficial, I still have it. At that time, the issue was on weekends my IP would overlap with that of another member here and I contacted the staff in order that my posting from the same IP not land them in trouble. I was told then that due to dynamic IPs, IP addresses would likely overlap from time to time and so it would not be a problem unless one account or the other drew moderator ire and reason was given to suspect that the accounts were being operated by the same person.

My problem much the same as the above, but to a far greater extent. Earlier, my overlap was caused by me staying at a different location on weekends than where I resided during the week. However, at this point, I have moved to the weekend location and so every single post would carry the same IP address. While the IP address is almost certainly going to be the same in every post, writing style, post times, and opinions on different issues will not be. Likewise, my old posts from back then would show the other person with whom I share an IP posting within minutes of each other from geographic locations roughly an hour apart. It perhaps should also be noted this account was started from the other location (as opposed to this one).

I wanted to bring all this to the attention of the moderation staff before I restored my account to activity to make sure everything was on the level. My question in all this, for the staff, is if these differences will be sufficient to avoid getting the other user in trouble should I become active once more? As generally boards that prohibit multiple accounts tend to frown on two accounts posting entirely from the same IP address, regardless of content and other factors, I am understandably concerned that my activity could get them in trouble with the staff. If this is not possible, I at least ask that this post bring no reprisal against the other person with whom I share an IP. If it is determined that an exact IP match in every post is not acceptable under these circumstances, I will retire the account without protest and simply return to lurking.

I thank you for your time and consideration,
Abraxas

P.S. I considered PMing this to the Anandtech Moderator account as I did my original inquiry, however, due to the recent changes in the way moderation is handled here at Anandtech I was uncertain whether that venue was still open for these kinds of questions. If it would be preferred this discussion be continued through that medium, or another of which I am presently unaware, I would be happy to continue this there so as to avoid tying up this forum.

We only block out IPs when there is a member that continually has been a major problem such that we have to permanently restrict access to Anandtech.

Two members posting for the same IP does happen and is not a great concern as long as we understand why and neither member causes trouble or becomes a PITA.

As stated in this thread by Derek, if you become blocked out, please let us know.
If one previously was a problem member and want access back, there are procedures to follow.

If one has become a problem member after the changes were implimented, do not bother knocking.

Neither of us have been blocked, nor, I believe to we intend to take any action that will lead to that. I simply wanted to make sure that the two of us posting from the same location would not, in and of itself be in trouble, and that doing so would not bring retribution against the other person.

In any case, I hope this thread covers the understanding why requirement and I thank you for your swift response. If you feel anything has not been adequately explained, please send me a PM and I will be happy to answer any questions.

Thanks again,
Abraxas

We have plenty of people in the same situation (for example, my wife posts here and we obviously share the dsl connections).
