Recently bought a new laptop with 256 megs of ram and 32 megs are shared ram with the video. According to the site this is variable (16, 32, 64)in the BIOS settings. Any clue on how to change it to 64 megs cuz im kinda lost???

Any RAM you dedicate to the video will not be available for applications. Are you sure you want to do that? If so, you may want to invest in more RAM, first.

Yes i know this. I will probably be investing in more ram soon. But for other purposes i would like 64megs to my video.

This is why I always recomment dedicated video RAM for my clients that want laptops, especially if they do anything that is graphics intensive.

It depends on the chipset used, 32MB may be the maximum amount possible to dedicate to video RAM.

as you said, it should be an option in the bios, so just enter the bios at bootup and poke around until you find it
what bios man/ver do you have?

You will probably not gain much video perf by setting it to 64. Unless you are gaming on the lappy, I'd leave it at 16 myself.
