Shared IRQ question

I have an ASUS p3v4x mobo with an ASUS 6800 DLX DDR geforce card, 2 Adaptec 2940UW scsi cards, SB live,3com NIC. I removed my internal DLT tape drive and made it external because it got too damn hot in my chassis even with 7 fans blowing optimally. The system has a dvd drive, a 48x cdrom drive, a burner and one lowly 10 gig IDE HD I use mainly for a swap file, so this sucker got hot! Anyway, I usually set irqs in the bios so this way they dont share within win9x. I set the bios to its defaults last night just to see what happens and when winME finished loading the video card was sharing the same IRQ as one of my scsi cards. The only thing connected to the two scsi cards is two external 10 slot SCSI hard drive chassis with all 20 slots full. Is it ok to have the SCSI and video sharing the same IRQ? Would there be some sort of perfomance hit either with video or HD accessing? Thanks.

I'd guess your SCSI is in PCI slot 1. NICs and SCSIs generally don't share well, but AGP adapters generally don't use the IRQ so that PCI adapters in PCI slot 1, which shares the PIRQ, generally work fine. Any problems, move the SCSI card to PCI slot 2 or 3.
