I have 3 computers each running XP SP1 on my network. My machine is the gateway and it connected using a DSL line. I've used the setup wizard and done all the usual junk to get the internet connection shared, but I'm having troubles. If my machine is already on the net and the other computers then get switched on they wont connect to the internet unless I restart the internet connection, even through the symbol for being connected to the LAN and the net both appear in the system tray.
Sometimes the other compters will connect to the internet and then it will stop for some reason and i'll have to reboot my computer before the others will work again.
What am I doing wrong?
I have heared that anually defining IP's to the other machines may well cure the problem. how exactly do I do this with windows XP? what are god IP's to assign the computers?
Thanks for your help!
