Shared authentication issue with my wireless htpc

Just installed usb wireless on my htpc. Everything worked fine, it asked for my key and the internet worked fine after that.

Well I just got a new hard drive for the htpc so I installed it and installed windows xp, drivers for the wireless. Network shows up normally but when I go to connect it says 'You cannot connect to a wireless network access point that uses shared authentication'...

Found this page here which is suppost to fix it http://support.microsoft.com/kb/884787/en-us

But when I go to do step 2 I have no General tab...

guess WPA2 wouldn't work, changed it to WPA and it asked for my key, entered it and it works. Why won't WPA2 work on my htpc?
