I dowload a lot of content from P2P networks (specifically eDonkey). I've been using Overnet, and as of the release of eDonkey 1.1, I switched, finding download speeds to have increased.

I recently discovered shareaza, which seems to be good for downloading small quantaties fo small files.

I've found eDonkey to be much better at downloading large files and large quantaties of them.

Maybe there's some settings I've got wrong, becuase the vastness of the networks that shareaza searches, you would think it would be like lightning.

hmm, if you want an alternate to edonkey try Limewire, on the Gutenalla network. It's not bad.

Shareaza uses the Gutenalla netowork (the old one and the new one). It also uses the E-Donkey network. Shareasa also is a great torrent program, the best in my oppinion.

I find the best combination for Shareaza is G1 + G2 with no ED2k. ED tends to choke up the queuing system and completely stop Gnutella from working. As long as you keep them separate, you'll get good results.

Sounds likea good plan dawg, planin on either splitting between Shareaza and eMule or Shareaza and ed2k official.

Might check out Limewire, heard bout it at skewl a few days ago.

Soulseek is a great client. May not be the largest network, but the program is great, small, and free of any spy/mal-ware..

I use emule. Was wondering if the eDonkey installer comes with adware, spyware, etc.?

The installer is weird, it comes with semi ad-ware-ish stuff, but you don't have to install it to make eDonkey work. There's not even extra functionality gained by installing it.

It might not even be considered adware by some.

Cliff notes

You can install the adware optionally (why even have it?) when you install edonkey.
