I need ideas for protein shakes and smoothies. I'm drinking a Chocolate whey shake with whole milk, blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries. It's pretty tasty, but it lacks substance.

My smoothies are usually kale (or baby spinach) + frozen bananas + frozen berries (strawberries or blueberries) + honey + water + sometimes a little hemp protein

The key to it all is frozen (not fresh) bananas.

This is pretty much what I do. Although, I will sometimes throw it in a blender with a banana.

Usually when I make a smoothie at home it's strawberries, banana, mango, and orange juice. I try to use fresh fruit whenever possible but sometimes I use frozen as well.

I feel I should add that if this isn't for nutrition and just as a snack, I generally just throw some random fruit on hand in a blend with some ice and blend that.

Typical breakfast smoothie:
Dump into blender in order and blend for a minute or two.
1 fresh banana
single serving of yogurt
~ 1 cup of orange juice
~ 1/2 cup nuts(almonds/walnut/pecan)
fill remaining space with frozen fruit(frozen rhubarb has made for some change of pace shakes)

Wow.. Didn't expect so many mentions of soy/almond/flax milk. No cow lovers among you?

I just throw in leftover veggies and fruits. Same with the liquid.

im just trying to lean up so i'm using it because it's got less calories and carbs than milk from cows. definitely more expensive too though.

Same here though sometimes I'll add mixed berries or a banana in and put in a blender.

I did work at Jamba Juice a couple years back in college and still remember most of those recipes.. lol
