If it becomes federal law, it won't do much good to blow up those bastards, but it sure will make everyone feel better. I think it's funny that they're losing market share to bands who frequently tour. People are going to concerts and buying music in the shops and the RIAA isn't getting their cut. I think they need to be pushed out of business by the government for price gouging and skimming off the top from REAL music artists....

What they will do if it passes is nab a couple of hard core offenders, and sentence them to some insanely long prison sentence in the hopes that it scares the rest into submission.

It actually reminds me of the "War on Drugs" mandatory prison sentences for first time offenders and all that sh!t. It's ridiculous and counter productive. I have a very intelligent and capable friend who was busted for dealing(he didn't but his roommate did and he got nailed for it) back in college and it has pretty much fvcked him for life because he can't get a lot of jobs because he has the felony on his record now. They have effectively removed a productive member from society because he was caught w/ a bag of plants in his dorm room. Just plain stupid.

i have said this before but we should just go after every important lawmaker's son / grandson or even family of the RIAA that has ever shared a file and make examples out of them and they will turn on the RIAA and look like a bunch of jackasses in the process :)
