I like that Sharpe new some actual history. It's really true that:

1. George Washington issued an order banning blacks from serving.
2. The British offered blacks a bounty and their freedom if they fought with the redcoats.
3. Washington then rescinded his order, and offered the same bounty and promise of freedom.
4. After the war ended, they reneged on the deal.

I know, because I literally just heard all this on a youtube video last night from the History Buffs channel which talked about historical inaccuracies in the Mel Gibson film "The Patriot."

I'm not used to athletes giving accurate history lessons. That was impressive.

AOC is worried that drew might break her most negative articles on the front page of foxnews record.

I watch the show a lot, whatever the discussion's on Shannon always has a ton of statistics and facts. Obviously it's normally sports-related, but the times they talk about other things, he always come across very knowledgable. Trump could learn a lot from how to speak and not lie about everything by watching this show instead of Fox & Friends.

What's the point of defending the flag if you aren't willing to defend all the things the flag is supposed to represent? Liberty, equality, and justice, and all the other morals this country was supposedly supposed to stand for.

Problem is Trump with all his filthy laundry is on the other side of the spectrum of being authentic compared to Shannon Sharpe. He can't begin to emulate Sharpe's example without likely having a personality meltdown, resigning his post and having a historic mea culpa moment for the ages. Won't happen.

I don't think Drew Brees is a bad person, I think he is a good person. He has done a lot through philanthropy and donating a lot of money to good causes.

But. He is the prime example of white privilege and how even a good person can be racist even if he doesn't mean to be. It is a combination of his upbringing (affluent lifestyle since he was young), the jobs his parents had, his faith, and just having the privileges of growing up white that has basically put blinders on him throughout his life. The only road to redemption for Drew if he truly wishes to salvage and rebuild his image, is to denounce what he said himself, continue to work with the black community and leaders, focus his donations right now on BLM issues, and also, publicly denounce the current President and Republican party which holds ideas and concept that is blatantly in opposition of the minorities in our country.

He needs to loudly and proudly announce that he will no longer vote Republican until the Republican party changes completely. He should also publicly voice to his family, friends, and fans, to also not support the racist Republican party until they go through a complete change. Then he needs to spend a ton of time and effort to help the black community and work with the black community in his area to change the police force and the political force so it no longer oppresses the minorities.

Lastly, I think his football career is unfortunately over. It will be incredibly hard or even impossible for his teammates, especially his black teammates to respect and trust him after he dropped the initial bombshell.

We were made to recite the pledge of allegiance to the flag... every day in grade school. "... for which it stands, liberty and justice for all."

The governor of CA was shown on TV yesterday here explaining that he knows full well that the guilty well-to-do here are treated far better than the innocent poor.

I have never had an issue with Colin Kaepernick kneeling. I wish I'd heard him more, however. So many stories about him kneeling, about people's reactions to that but I wanted to hear the man's ideas. For some reason I can't recall any of that, which I think is strange. Does he lack eloquence? I mean a symbolic gesture is only worth so much. The bruhaha about it has always struck me as strange as hell. WTF. We wanted to see the game. Why get all hot and bothered about someone's deportment during a pregame ritual? It's always seemed bizarre to me. I really don't give a damn and I figure that people who do are very likely hypocrites.

It's not just that they are hypocrites. They, knowingly or not, bought into a deliberate attempt to discredit his protest. Same shit happened with BLM.

Falling victim to this doen't make you a racist but it does help forward a racist agenda. Now that this has been made clear to people, if you continue that messaging you are now actively participating in racism against the black community.

I really didn't mean to promote this show but here is some more education from Shannon, Skip and Killer Mike
