Shampoo recommendations for dandruff?

I have dandruff in my hair for some odd reason, any recommendations on which shampoo to use?

When I got my hair cut a week or two ago she recommended using shampoo less, maybe every other day or so. I tried that and it doesn't seem to be making much of a difference.

Get the generic rite-aid brand on the cheap. Other generics didn't seem to work. Make sure it's dark brown & smells nasty. I had it as a kid, & using this a couple times a week made it disappear.

i think i remember hearing something about shampoo with garlic works pretty well
of course it would be de-scented

I use to use just whatever cheap generic kind the store I was in carried and they all worked fine for me. I've been using Fructis lately not that its any better as far as I can tell with the dandruff part but I think my hair looks better with it.

Try a different "flavour" then.
Or get used to it. The menthol one was weird at the start, but after a while you get used to it and don't notice it anymore.

i should know ... none of the above suggestions worked for me ...
i use Dove sensitive with moisturiser ... dove conditioner FTW!
