I love the way the TV schedule is staggered throughout the year now. There's always something good starting whenever something else good ends.

Archer and Episodes both fired up their new seasons this week too.

Yeap. There's a small dry-spell in the summer, but even that is limited (and in reality, I have little to no time to watch in the summer anyways)

What's Shameless is that we watched all 4 seasons over Christmas break. Little sad when we realized it would be a week before a new episode.

Haven't seen the last episode, but the way they brought Jimmy/Steve back just to be a side-story for Fiona was ridiculous. They tried to make him look like some jerk-off too and didn't even go into the back story on wtf happened on that boat. Very lame.

This season has been fantastic, except I really wish they would get rid of Sammy's character. I can't stand her or her stupid kid.

I also wish they would focus more on the ... takeover, I guess ... of the neighborhood. It seems we get a small bit about it every 3-4 weeks, but no real conflicts or anything. I thought it would've been a bit more crazy.

Yeah he's a great character but I think his story arc is effectively over. Fiona pretty much rejected him and now we see his "partner" doesn't really like him either. He's not going to Dubai but I doubt he sticks around to try and get Fiona back, seems like he was content to ride off on his/someone's chopper.

I think what's making this season good is that they're balancing things so well. There are a lot of different things going on with Ian's bipolar, Fiona's marriage, the lesbian takeover, Lip's money issues, Jimmy/Steve, Sammy taking over, Frank being Frank, Debby becoming a hardass, Carl smuggling dope, Vee and Kev struggling with the babies, etc etc etc and they manage to keep everything percolating with nothing getting lost.

It seems like they didn't think out "what if we last a bunch of seasons, what are we going to do with a little kid?"

Trick is, he's old enough now to have some sort of story line (besides OD'ing) but nobody really cares about him because he's not a "character" in the show.

I'm sick of "Howdy Doody" (I LOVE Svetlana's names for Ian) story line. Actually I take that back... the story line is good and integral for that matter as it's now come full circle with him being the new Monica and everyone having to relive their upbringing (or lack-thereof)

Lip is phenomenal. Kevin and Vee are awesome. Karl is... well he's the best. And Frank? God Frank....

Lip has always been my favorite character/storyline and that's still going strong. I really like the change in Mickey's character too. Noel Fisher is doing an incredible job in that show, from how he started as completely dislikeable to being somewhat likeable at this point.

Last Sunday's episode was spectacular, best of the season for sure. Not that anything major happened (except for Bianca maybe) but it had my attention to whole way through and the ending kept getting better.
