Its time for my yearly post.

My first book did reasonably well. Now its time to try out my sci fi writing.

The Emperor's Daughter has some Firefly flavor to it, and any gamers in here will certainly see the influence from Elite.

As always, would love some honest reviews.

Congrats OP, I'm working on my first book and I know how hard it is, much more than anyone else realizes!

That's for sure. I can pound out non-fiction with ease, but trying to write fiction is freaking exhausting.

Here is the synopsis...

It has been nearly a thousand years since humanity discovered the means to travel between the stars. Mankind has spread throughout the galaxy in search of new planets to colonize. They have discovered that life developed on hundreds of planets throughout the universe but have yet to find any sign of intelligent life outside of Earth. Empires have formed, alliances forged, and wars fought, all between humans.

Kale is a former slave of the Dominion, a ruthless empire ruled by genetically enhanced human beings. He captains a ship called the Midnight Oil on many adventures. Kale earns his living transporting messages, passengers and cargo throughout the galaxy. He embarks on his latest journey after accepting a mission to extract a wealthy man’s daughter from a fringe planet.

Her rescue takes him through sundry explorations which find him in the midst of a civil war on a frontier planet, in the throes of experimenting with new space-travel technology, and executes a jump to the farthest reaches of the galaxy to uncover an ancient secret—one that will change the fate of mankind.
In humanity’s quest to discover intelligent extraterrestrial life, they neglected to look within themselves.

There is nothing even remotely interesting about this author. His life, both past and present are completely irrelevant to the nature of the books he writes.

just for that, i'll buy your books Dick Flunker.

Guess I need to buy these books. With an author's name like Dick Flunker, what could go wrong?

Hmm... "To those who are alone" ?
What do you mean by 'are alone', are we talking relationships, mentally, physically, spiritually, or, do you refer to something like the trolls under bridges ?

In your description on Amazon, get rid of the bold part. No need for it to be there and screams of weak writing. Those 3 words prevent me from spending money on the book. I'm afraid that the book will be riddled with phrases like that and I will have wasted my money.
