Shadowrun cracked to run on XP

It runs on XP because it's not a DX10 game at all. The only reason it didn't run on XP in the first place is due to MS wanting to force people to upgrade.

Are you going by the reviews or have you actually played it? I thought it was going to be garbage but I really like it. The magic and tech make it surprisingly good.

Admittedly, I have only played it on the 360. I'm debating whether or not to pick it up for XP now.

EDIT: nvm, Live still wouldn't work, oh well, maybe I'll give Vista a shot.
 
Eh, I think the idea for not putting some of these games on XP is to avoid having to release Live for Windows on Windows XP. Seemingly in Microsoft's eyes, XP is done for upgrade-wise and is seeing support patches, etc. Why keep adding more to old tech.

Sweet, that's what the PC gaming industry needs more of, discarding old tech while the majority still uses it.

 
Eh, I could care less about Live. I don't want some stupid 7 year old calling me the n-word because I PWNed him in the face while he was being a little wanker. The thirteen year olds on the Source games are bad enough. I might get it just so I can say "Hey, I got the game working on XP."

For me personally... that wouldn't matter and here's why 😛.

Three things, 1) I already own Vista and couldn't care less... that would only work if I bought it for Shadowrun 2) you have to pay some 3rd party for software to allow Live for Windows to work on XP 3) I don't even own Shadowrun.

Maybe once people get slapped in the face enough, they'll lose this high sense of entitlement that they think they deserve.
 
The whole point is that Windows Vista is an unnecessary OS. It's just a bloated version Of XP with totally useless 3D-accelerated visuals.
