Shadowplay 4k recording?

Ok, so I can't figure out what the issue is so figured I would ask.

Current Specs:
4k Screen
i7 4790
32GB DDR3
GTX 780 x2 SLi
500GB 850 Evo
Windows 10 64 Pro

So, this system is working off of a very fresh/clean install of Windows 10. I plan to use it to send a feed from my real gaming system that is under construction currently for encoding/streaming (and will do it at 1080p).

But in the meantime I figured i would record a bit of 4k gameplay for fun. (If this doesnt work, it is FAR from the end of the world).

I am just using Shadowplay as its is already installed with GFE. Trouble is, Shadowplay only shows 1440p as the max recording res. I am testing with BL PreSequel as it is one of the few games that dual 780's will run maxed at 2160. The game is set to 2160 and is playing at that res but still Shadowplay only shows 1400. If I set Shadowplay to capture "Resolution: In-Game" I still get 1440.

funny you should mention shadowplay .. i was just on Nv forums, shadowplay died. apparently they decided to put login verification in GFE, without which shadowplay does not launch. and their login servers are offline, so nobody can use shadowplay.

way to make me switch to amd guys.

I've had it record 4k before. Using the "in game resolution" setting and DSR to boost up to 4k. I haven't done it in the last couple months, so I can't guarantee an update hasn't changed something.

You can still download it normally from their website, only updating from the running prog needs login.

@kyle does your desktop run at 4K? Did you try to record desktop at all?

Hmmmmm, I was unaware that Shadowplay could record just the desktop

As for settings, my desktop is set to 2160 with no scaling as well (...as well as the game)

i record 3440x1440 with it, just set it to game rez, should work

if you play in "windowed mode" you will need to enable desktop capture

Still no luck. Fullscreen 4k res in-game (and desktop) all I get is 1440 when set to "in game". So odd. Using OBS I did manage to get 4k recordings but wouldnt mind gettin Shadowplay to work. Oh well.
