Ubi/Wolfpack studios has agreed to thousands of customers to deliver us a working game. This working game has had 5 seconds of lag from release to now... server end. The login servers are lagging so badly it takes 30 minutes to log in, and over an hour to create a charecter. THIS IS AFTER THE FIX THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO RECTIFY IT. This game has had less than 50% uptime since release, and has already had a client side hack in which no one was caught and some servers had to be rolled back.

My question is: Could there be a class action lawsuit sueing for all fees paid and the initial price of the game? A ton of people would jump on this boat because the game is totally unplayable in its current state. I would consider this game barely ready for beta.

The lawsuit would be under Non-Delivery of services.

Wow I had no idea. I didn't really follow Shadowbane and I haven't bothered to try it now that it's out. It sounds even worse than AO release though. If you are paying a monthly fee for that then by all means you should have a case.

Less than 50% uptime since released? I played the game at release for a bit, but eventually hated it (hated the movement the most)... but it was almost always up when i wanted to play.

And if you wanted to sue, why are you posting here? Go to the fan sites or official site. You could win, people won a suit against Ultima Online when it first came out.

That sounds almost like the UO: AoS expansion....it took me 4 hours to update my account to AoS, and the lag was so bad I couldn't stay connected for more than about 15 seconds.

I don't know about recooping the original price for the software, but my cable went out for like a day and i called the cable company and got that month pro-rated (heh ended up saving like a buck and some change).

well i was wondering if anything like this had been done before :) thats why i asked here. Yes the downtime is horrendous... its been down all day today with login server issues, yesterday it got hacked, and the day before that were more login server issues...

and its everyone, not just a small group that cant login.

i feel very sorry for the people that paid for 1 year subscriptions. Considering all i can do right now is watch the opening cinematics over and over.

I've been trying to connect to SWG for like 3 days... there is no way in hell this game is coming out within a month.

Yep, an MMORGP similar to UO, AC, EQ and the rest of that genre.

servers came down at 3:45 for an emergency patch, downtime 90 minutes.

maybe they can get them back to 30 minutes of lag instead of totally down :(
