Hehe I still have an unopened copy of Shadow Warrior on my shelf, but we used to play it all the time. It has tons of stupid puns and sayings but it was a blast.

That game was pretty nuts. Had driveable cars and tanks, all kinds of crazy items and weapons. They really pushed the 2.5D build engine to its edge with that one.

3drealms is selling SW for $10 or otherwise check ebay &c.

Not sure how to run it on XP. Messin' with compatability may be more trouble than it is worth when there is a Windows port mentioned to try or in lieu of that just go straight back to ye olde DOS by booting from a floppy or CD and running off a HDD partition (FAT) or presumably any large enough storage device which is accessable and writeable (maybe it does not even have to be writeable if a config file is already setup?). I suspect the biggest hurdle could be getting the audio working.

We installed it last nite on my roommate's old PII on Win2K. It worked fine except for sound effects in the game were not picked up. It had the music, but no corny sayings or other sound effects. The setup wouldn't recognize his sound card at all (an AWE 64). The speed was really a bit too fast for his old machine too, which I'm sure any machine made in the past 7 or 8 years might be a bit too fast to be enjoyable.

I suspect that if you booted to DOS, installed the game and then the expansion and ran the setup from there, it should pick up the sound card correctly.
