Shareware on Sale has a Shadow Defender 3-day giveaway. Unfortunately the program is wrapped and SD is one version behind. Since it's wrapped it can only be activated during the 3 days so you probably won't be able to reinstall in the future. The normal price for this program is $35 for a lifetime license. As far as I know it is a one man show and you probably won't get much support.
I've been using SD for at least a few years. I use it on demand when risky surfing ()
or when trying a program I'm not sure is safe or that I would like. Since I have plenty of RAM I use it instead of my disk for the write cache. I use a slightly older version but the only problems I have run into is sometimes it rarely hangs when turning off protection when it reboots so I have to press the reset button. It also sometimes realigns my desktop icons after shutting off the protection.

Edit: I would not update the program in this giveaway as you will probably risk killing the license since it can only be installed during the giveaway. I would also make sure to untick the upate box. IMHO it's not that big of a deal unless this version has a bug that affects you or there is a specific security vulnerability. Most users stick with older versions for stability anyways.
