I posted this in the gaming forum and nobody replied. I was going to grab it but I really don't want another game launcher installed on my machine.

Are you familiar with the Epic launcher? Is it updated? Can it be stopped? Does it spy?

On my machine, it doesn't launch itself on startup. It's not invasive and delivers more free stuff than anything else. I have it installed to develop stuff with Unreal Engine, and you also get access to the Unreal Tournament beta. It's more like a showcase than a store, like Steam or the Origin launcher.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with the launcher. I may give it a go

Edit: Quick question. Will everything work fine if I install the launcher and the games on a non-OS HDD?

I installed the Epic launcher to my E: drive. I have an "E: \Program Files" and "E: \Program Files (x86)" so when I install apps, all I have to do is change the drive letter to shift it off the OS drive. (spaces added in path to avoid emoticons)

An added benefit is that the original program files folders have special restrictions that can mess up older programs (like older Steam games, for example), so putting them on a data drive often "fixes" things more than it breaks them.

Good to hear. On my I: drive I already have a program files (x86) from what looks like Origin and Uplay so I should be set. Thanks again!
