2000 Ford Taurus 130some odd thousand miles. Just changed fuel filter a couple months ago. A week ago, my wife pulled out of the bank, and car stalled and died. She was able to start it again immediately, and continued without incident.

I drove it yesterday, and no problems per say, but I noticed it was hesitating between 30 and 40 MPH. Driving in town today, turned a corner and it stalled. I was not able to get it started again for a good hour and a half. WHEN it did finally start, Ithere was a heavy smell of gas in the air. I was able to drive it home, but it seemed to be hesitating slightly again, and NOW engine light is on (solid, not flashing) I'm not able to get it into the shop till Monday, and want to get an idea of what I was facing repair wise. Fuel pump? Fuel filter again?

Its definately something in the fuel delivery system, I had something similar happen with my car. After a couple of days of tinkering I was able to trace it to a faulty MAF sensor (detects the amount of air flow to put the correct amount of feul in the engine) It was $150 just for the one little sensor.

Correct you were...It's either the pump going bad, or the pressure gerulator. I wonder how much that'll set me back???
