-This is a sad little rant so go away if you don't have anything at all to contribute.-

High school life is so crappy sometimes... and it's us, we're the ones who make it crappy for ourselves. It's grad year for me, and obviously lots of parties. My friends and I aren't the type of people who go crazy, drink, hell we don't even drive more than 1 person because our new drivers license prohibits that. But we've gotten to be a huge group of friends, like, 20+ people. When you end up with that many people, some get excluded from certain events, parties, etc. Last night we went to a restaurant, and then afterwards only some of us were invited to a friend's house to hang out. Very awkward afterward when we went different ways, because inevitably some people who didn't get invited knew about it. Then, tonight, my friend's birthday party. For some reason he didn't invite the person who was his best friend since elementary school, and should still be a good friend. When I asked him why, he just said "well I can't invite EVERYONE." Stuff like this makes me feel so guilty. I know exactly how it feels to not be invited to my best friend's party. Ugh. I can already imagine grad and the prom. My friends want to rent a limo. Good luck putting 20+ people in a limo. I swear, I'm going to drive my CRV to grad. I wouldn't want to ruin the night for my girlfriend, though.

Fvck, I am out.

Nothing bad really is happening to me. But knowing it's happening to someone else and not doing anything about it is just as bad.

I'm from Vancouver too, graduated from St. George's last year and I'm at Queen's this year.

Get over it. Graduation year is a life of stress.. think it gets any better? Better stop thinking.

As for driving to grad, insurance liabilities prohobit students driving to grad, I was the co-chair of my grad committee and that was our biggest issue.

Call ahead (aka right now) and try and find a stretch hummer/escalade/expeditions.

Here's something I learned over the last 47 years..... You can't please everyone, Friends are only as good to you as you are to them (or allow them to treat you) and Girl Friends come and go.
Don't take everything personally, and learn to not sweat the small stuff. How do you know if it's small stuff? You learn.
Good luck. HS sucked for me too. But it gets worse after you graduate, as it (your life) rests on YOUR shoulders.
PS

It gets much much better , too. If you let it.

I love laughing at other people's problems.

Tell the story again about how hard it was to choose from the 4 varieties of cereal you could have for breakfast?

It does suck to watch people get left out for no reason, and to see people get hurt by it.

Console yourself with the fact that the people you are dealing with now will be a distant memory in a few years, and you will not even remember how you feel right now when you look thru your yearbook in years to come. You will meet and lose touch with a lot of people in your life. With the rare exception of one (or maybe) two friends.... most ppl dont even know what became of the ppl they went to HS with.

You will grow up a bit more and one day start a family. That will be your constant and you will realise that, while this sucks, it is no biggie.

Congrats on your graduation, btw!

If you think that sucks.... well, I just moved to Portland, OR from Texas, and it's my senior year in HS... I don't have any friends whatsoever and everything is different... school is easier though ;)
