Here is a screenshot I took of my new extended battery for S4. Currently using a 7000mah battery from mpj for 2 weeks already and i just LOVE the battery, only issue is i don't like the case they offered, looks too common..lol

This is a good day with heavy usage and a not good signal! I do use some features that need sync and I consider myself a really heavy user for games, music, etc.

All the pic tells us (assuming that it's accurate, which I've never known the Android battery screen to be) is that...a 7000mAh battery gets you 24 hours? o_O

I think I have a 1600mAh battery and I get more than a day with normal use...

screen on time is a meaningless metric. Someone can get 8 hours reading an eBook but 2 hours gaming on a stock battery.
Yeah, but then either thing should show up as a meaningful percentage of battery use.

I kind of see it the opposite- without knowing how much time was spent with the screen on, what good is measuring how long the battery lasts? What good is measuring x number of hours a device sat with its screen off, doing nothing?

well..i did some sharpening, cropping, etc. to make icons look clear..actually i am not sure its exact capacity cuz i think there is no way that either of these batteries can be found are the mAh they claim...but I am really happy with this result since it can only last half the time if i do same data on my phone with stock battery ...

I'm not suggesting to do a benchmark with screen off. I'm suggesting to have a controlled rundown test like Brian Klug runs or whatever. Showing off screen off time based on what you or I get is just an apples to oranges comparison.

I like to do max brightness test with H264 loop and max volume. YouTube has some very long videos that make it easy (download and play H264 version with MX Player or similar) if you don't want to edit or use your own source material. Disable sleep (RedEye) and let the sucker run for 100% down until it runs out of juice.

Not quite a torture test or entirely scientific and repeatable across all devices, but closer to a consistent worst case scenario than some of the arbitrary tests out there. Network conditions and apps make it hard to predict actual battery life, but at least with extreme tests you can be sure you'll get at least that much battery life. I hate seeing crazy optimistic results in reviews where basically the reviewer stayed in a bubble of perfect conditions. No one has perfect battery life testing down yet because we all use our devices differently, but I like the way AnandTech does it.
