I have Irix 6.2 installed on my Indy. I've been told this is a very insecure OS version and that I should upgrade to 6.5 immediately. Does anyone know the cost of purchasing a licence for 6.5?

Next, i'd like to know if anyone has installed linux on an indy... was it easy? how did you do it? (the FAQ's are too helpful)

Sorry, I don't have an answer to your question. That out of the way, I think that SGI workstations are quite compatible with Linux. It can't be made quite as secure as some Unixes, but it's a lot cheaper!
