I snagged one of the New Ultra Micro Fly SFF cases this week from TigerDirect. Not a bad deal at $69.99 with free shipping. It should arrive next Tuesday, hopefully by then I will have sorted out my order list for parts for it. Here is the direction im leaning on my parts list.

Mobo- Biostar T6100 (wish they made this with a 6150 chipset with Firewire)

CPU- AMD64 X2 3800

Hard Drive- Maxtor Maxline SATA 250 (its bought and paid for sitting on the spare parts shelf..I just gotta use it) :)

Memory- Corsair TWINX2048-3200C2PT 2GB Kit DDR400 XMS3200 Memory w/Platinum Heat Spreader (I have this on hand no reason not to use it)

Graphics Card- PCI-e PNY 7600GT (this fits the budget and it is equal to or better than the 6800gt in my current system) its a deal now at newegg with the mobo in combo deal..$149 after rebate. I game but have played nothing that my 6800gt doesnt handle with ease...so this 7600gt should do the trick, ez on the budget and not a power hog.

CD/DVD burner- Probably a Lite-on for a better fit in the SFF case.

Power Supply- Ok..this is really up in the air. Im leaning toward something in the Enermax line like the Noisetaker 485 or 425 perhaps. Although(this is were i get flamed) I have seen some very good feedback at Newegg on the Rosewill line of power supplies they sell and this one looks tempting. Also the modular design will allow me to use no more cabling than necessary. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16817182025

Ok guys..feedback and bashing time. Lets here from ya. :)

Rosewill is the ultimate mixed bag. They are a "house brand", and they basically just slap their label on whatever happens to be currently available. So sometimes, yes, you get a nice cheap Fortron. And other times, Deer. Or Aspire. Or other bad power supply brands. It is as close to Russian Roulette as computer hardware can get.

That particular supply is almost certainly a remarked, blue version of this one made by Coolmax. And Coolmax, in a word, sucks.

I would absolutely not buy a Rosewill supply, and even moreso a modular one. Modular designs are inherently more difficult to do well.

Ya..I was a little iffy when I made that selection. I should have gone with one of the Enermax PS's. So my decision is..do I RMA it and take a 15% restock hit..or throw it up on my spare parts shelf as a backup. Im thinking keep it for a backup because my current shelf spare backup is a Antec truepower 420 but it is a 20 pin gener, although not a bad little power supply. Im gonna order the Enermax Noisetaker 485. I this it will make me feel a little more comfortable inside my new system. Its always great to have other AT members to bounce decisions off of...the acid test so to speak.

Just make sure the power supply you get is the standard 5.5"/140MM depth and not a longer one.

I mean... you can use a longer one... but you'll have to snip a little metal off of one of the side panels.

Check out SFFClub.com for updates. ;)

Guru with the shameless plug for my website haha. He doesn't get paid for those that are wondering.

Anyway, Your setup seems fine. I always advise against Maxtor since Seagate bought them out and you never know where the warranty thing ends up. The Micro Fly update will come out sometime this week and will talk about the power supply thing and then another update will follow the next week when I review the Antec NSK 3300. Good times for www.sffclub.com :)

Have you considered the DFI rs482? It's a good board, I just got rid of mine on the route to intel. I'd say that's the best mATX board. Also, I had the Tforce prior to owning the rs482.

I like the Microfly case... Just put one together and used the Antec Truepower 550 watt PSU, Biostar TForce6100 Board, AMD Semperon +2800 64 bit.. I love it and running Windows XP Pro X64 and Suse X64.

glad you like it. I got two of them now :) Did you read the SFFClub review by any chance? If so, did it help at all?
