Hi... does anyone know if I can hook up a more powerful power supply to my xpc? I'm thinking of just buying a xpc mobo and using my power supply... and then make a modded case for my computer.

There are the 250 watt shuttle ps (which with the bare mobo and ps = the same amount of brand new xpc). Will that 250 watt be good enough?

Here's what I need to power:

p4 3.0C w/ jet 4 fan/heatsink (or water cooling kit)
9800 pro AIW or 9600xt AIW
serial ata hdd (160 gig wd if it matters)
dvd burner
dvd-rom
2X mini cold cathodes
led fan

I know it's tested with all the other stuff but the cold cathodes and led fan... But with those included will it still work?

p.s. I'm gonna make my own case anyways.... (if it matters)

I wouldn't be surprised that it would be plenty for that.... THe XPC PSU's are much higher quality.

Ok guess I'm gonna just buy a whole new xpc and sell the case. unless anyone has something to add. Thanks for your feedback.

If you sell your case, shoot me a PM - I might be interested.

By the way, I use a P4 2.4C @ 3GHz, 1GB PC3500, 80GB (8 meg cache) HDD, Radeon 9800NP (flashed to Pro) and a Combo Drive in an SB65G2 w/ a 250W PSU - and it was running fine on the 200W, as well.

PM me - I may have something that would interest you and vice versa.
