Is CF really worth it for GPUs that weak? (I mean, if one doesn't cut the mustard for some HTPC kinda task, will both be able to do it any better?)

I would rather have an i3 Ivy bridge + a HD 7850.

Me too. I'm assuming the build was targeted for somebody who wants an Apple TV on steroids kinda thing more than a living room gaming PC.

A low-profile 7750 and i3 would go great with that case, and make for mediocre-but-acceptable gaming in the bargain.
