Actually, EPA's getting kind of expensive too. :) I haven't checked prices recently, but it seemed like a lot of Palo Alto people were being forced to moved over there, since PA/Atherton/Menlo Park is becoming overpriced.

I've been looking at buying a house with one of my roommate's. I'm >hoping< the economy totally crashes, massive layoffs ensue and the real-estate market crashes. Oh... and 5% mortgage rates become standard. :)

OuterSquare: Yah, it used to be. But with the rising costs of housing, it's inevitable that most of the original residents of the EPA would be pushed out. I mean, who could really resist the intense gobs of money being thrown around. 3BD/2BA townhouses going for $450-600K. The cheapest >real< house (townhouses aren't real houses, IMHO) go for around $600-700K, minimum. Hopefully, the realestate market will crash and I can afford something. ;)

Sat

btw, funny article I read in the newspaper a few years back. I guess it was news that EPA finally got an ATM machine. I was laughing about that blurb for a while. :)

Well berkeley is even worse. We pay~1900 for our 2 bed apartment that is 5-10 min walk from campus. I know some guys who pay like ~2100 for a 2 bed apartment that is like a 15 min walk from campus. The housing here is disguisting. These expensive apartments are old and run down. Some students can't even find an apartment and they have to live in hotel rooms. There is no way to solve this problem because there is no room to build anything near campus. I know people who go to ucd or ucr(not that I would want to go to either of these places) but they pay like 300 for a 3 bedroom house.
