I think it's probably a good thing since it seems they are getting rid of Mr. DP (A. J. Pierzinsky). Anyways, he's money defensively, I think he calls a good game (can anyone confirm this, looking towards you STL fans), but my god does he suck with the bat. I'm going to quote Yahoo Sports here:

In 2003, he hit .252 and drove in 47 runs while hitting eight home runs in 441 at-bats -- arguably the best offensive season of his career.

Uhhh...Anyways, any opinions on this signing?

They don't have him signed yet. They can offer him arbitration, but now it looks like they won't. We still have Grissom, who's decent in center. I think overall, it's a good deal, but we'll see
 
Giants could do a sign and trade or just let him go outright. Grissom is sliding defensively better off having he come off the bench. Too bad giants lost out on finley, the guy had pop and defense. What do you think of vernon wells or podesik in center?
 
Either would be sick. However, I don't want the Giants to trade their top young pitchers to get either of them. The should just toss Feliz in right and say, "defense be damned" and see what happens. But they'll probably pick up someone (come on Ordonez :laugh: ) who can actually play the position.
 
Ordonez is out of the question management doesn't like dealing with boras. The current rumor is the giants will have to give up either brad hennessey or jerome williams in order to land either wells or podesik.

Yeah, I know they would never get Ordonez, but I can dream. They better not give up Jerome, he's going to be money if he comes back this year in shape, unlike last year. Hennessey was a good spot starter, but I don't think he'll be that good in the long run. I would have no problem if they traded him. Just not Foppert, Cain, Lowry, Williams, or Valdez (am I forgetting somone? I think I am) Those guys are the future of our franchise.
 
If your going to dream might as well picture beltran in a giants uniform. Teams have been asking about lowry but sabean has flat out refused but he seems to be more open to dealing either hennessey or williams. The farm system is in a pretty sad state, only blue chips prospects coming out of the minors are pitchers not a single position player to be found. Need to copy what the A's are doing, they're going to get a nice crop of players for hudson.
