didn't feel a thing in santa cruz. it can't have been THAT big. when the 1989 quake hit santa cruz, i was living twice as far away as this one and it shook paintings off the walls.

LoL.. no wonder it felt so big.. 3-4 miles away from Berkeley. No wonder I felt it. I'm pretty sure it was the Hayward fault then. In that case, it's like just blocks away from campus =).

I have a friend who works at the big UC Berkely data center. He is either grinning from ear to ear or sh!tting bricks right about now. I toured the facility a few months back and was impressed by the earthquake-anticipating engineering.
