I wonder if for $10 less than their usual xp2000+ combo will the xp1800+ be fater because of the newer chip?

Unless you plan to o/c, the XP2000+ deal is better for $10 extra... the best was when they had XP2000+ Retail combo.
I am almost sure that the XP1800+ is TBred-A since Fry's buy in such big bulk when it comes to CPUs. So for o/c between AROIA and TBred-A, I do not is much different if any. Also, K7S5A does nto have much option to o/c.

So, 1667 vs 1533 for $10.

BTW, does anyone know if any of the Fry's have the K7S5A-Pro in yet?

Didn't see any K7S5A pro at the Frys in Fremont yesterday. I agree, though - if you're settling for the K7S5A, you probably won't be overclocking so the 2000XP for $99 is (was, and will be again soon knowing Frys) a much better deal.

These 1800+ t-breds are known to hit 2ghz with a voltage of about 1.7 volts. It might be good to buy one, and sell the ecs board on ebay for about $45.

This is not a hot deal unless you plan on throwing away the motherboard. I've gone through two different ones and my friend has also gone through two different ones and none are stable at all at 133mhz bus speed. It's driving me crazy!!!!!!

Anyone know why it wouldn't work?

try 2 sticks at 100mhz. it'll work. fun eh?

try 1 stick at 133, it'll work too! hehe
