Man who had sex in sleep cleared of rape

A man was found innocent of raping a teenage girl after a jury was told that he suffered from "sexsomnia".
A sleep consultant confirmed to Swansea Crown Court that Stephen Lee Davies was most likely telling the truth when he said that he was unable to prevent himself having sex during his sleep before waking up oblivious to what had happened.
Davies had been accused of raping a 16-year-old college student who stayed overnight at his home in 2009 and had crept into his bed whilst he was asleep because it was cooler.

Well...I will tell you that on occasion I will wake up and be in the early stages of sex with my wife yet still be asleep. It always starts where I am dreaming about something that involves sex and I guess subconsciously I know she is right beside me and can fill in that role. It's weird. We've been married 16 years so she's used to it. Most of the time when I wake up I do not want to continue but...not always 🙂

I don't even want to ask what the hell you meant by early stages of sex. Your wife must be one heavy sleeper. What's disturbing here is the idea that she got used to it 🙂

She did that thing where you creep into a naked person's bed. You know, in a not-sexual way. There's no way she was trying to initiate sex. She was trying to snuggle him. Naked. Because his bed is cooler than the floor (wut??)

I can't believe this even went to trial. The girl crawled in bed with him, for fucks sake. I've been sleeping with a (now-ex) girlfriend and have groped her in my sleep, thrust my pelvis up against her while dreaming about some sexual encounter, not having much awareness of it.

One time, we were sleeping in the spoon configuration, I was behind her. I woke up and she was in the process of putting my Johnson inside her from behind (not in her behind, from behind). I was like..."What are you doing?" She replied, "What are YOU doing?" I said..."What do you mean?"

"Well you were grinding up against me from behind and it turned me on."

I had no recollection of it. Of course, I do have a sleep disorder that produces some crazy-realistic hallucinations while dozing or asleep, and sex is often the subject of them.

Happens to me and the wife fairly regularly, especially if I've been drinking.

I'll initiate it while being fully asleep and usually don't wake up till I'm close to done or she pushes me away and angrily tells me to go back to sleep. :\

Once I woke myself up by making sex movements while I was dreaming, I was literally fucking air lol. If I had a woman beside me on that occasion I would probably be having sex with her while asleep.

I hate when that happens, it is worse when you have your girlfriend next to you (but you arent humping her) and she looks at you like you are retarded once you realize you are fucking (or attempting to fuck) the bed.
