One thing I think they're not admitting is that their albums are still selling well. Britney has already sold 2 million with her new album, in a little over 2 months. In the mean time, evanescense is at 3 million after nearly a year.......

Britney is the first female artist in Soundscan history to have 4 #1 albums in a row, her new album debuted at #1.

Not to mention that her new song "Toxic" is turning out to probably be a big hit, adding another million or so to the albums soundscan totals. While her sales aren't as high as her first two albums, especially since the pop bubble has started burting, her albums are still selling well from an industry perspecitve.

I have to agree with some of the stuff in the article. Artists who have more talent than just their voice and body are really doing well. Take Christina A. and Beyonce for example - they both have written and produced most of the songs on their albums, and enjoyed momentous success at the same time: Christina's second album was the 10th best selling album last year, and she is still releasing singles from it to this day and still getting tonnes of airplay. Usually an artist will only get 1 or 2 commercial singles off of an album, she's garnered 6+. Beyonce has also had the pleasure of having her first two singles reach the #1 spot on the billboard chart, and they stayed there for 10+ weeks each! :Q Not to mention the 8 million albums Norah Jones has sold, yet she only had one hit single. Alicia Keys is also enjoying a nice bout of success with the release of her sophmore album, which she also helped write and produce.

T & A is selling at about the going rate of talent these days.
