has to do with road to tire noise and channeling water away when it rains, if i recall.
Weird... Wouldn't the normal pitch in the road make the water run off to the sides? As for noise, it seems like it would make it noiser...is that what they are going for?

that area on the 405 S/N just seems to have these exotics.
within 2 miles from where these pics were taken, I have also seen a silver Carerra GT and a bright red Ferrari Enzo, both stuck in traffic... lol
