you just goto the channel and then go one up or down
so if you're trying to watch channel 50, just goto 51 or 49
then quickly hit up or down (depends which one you were on) and then hold down the power button. Stick a paper clip to hold the power button down and the channel would come through clearly
never figured out why it worked but it always did for all channels

Old days, with analogueish cable boxes... the ones that had like 8 buttons that had 3 channels (you picked high/medium/low range) each and a dial on the right for fine tuning... if you went to the channel above and fine tunned it all the way down (or vice versa) you could get in some of the scrambled channels. Found that out as a tween. Got to watch HBO late at night (Porkys was the first one, heh!), didn't have MAX back then, at least not on that system.

Skinemax...ahh....the memories. For some reason we got that channel for free for a year. Funny thing was that my friends would always want to sleep over at my house. 🙂😉
